Scholastic Kitchen Skills
Each program consists of a set of course titles to inspire engagement and the desire to bring the lessons home.
Types of Programs
Every RCA Class has a hands-on learning component. (All equipment provided!)
Each learner is able to prepare a recipe (with no kitchen/stove) needed using our RCA Tool kit, instructions and easily acquired / accessible ingredients that are listed on each of our recipes which can be done with the Instructor at the school or at your convenience at your home.
Each of our recipes is the hand-on component that provides the educational experience each learner needs to acquire healthy cooking skills, meal planning, nutrition education and many other essential learning components that each learner needs on daily basis in order to lead a healthy lifestyle and completely comprehend the information being taught in the modules.
Core Curriculum Based
Common core is the hear of education and Rainbow Chef can tie into your accreditation and activity needs.
Our educational modules/classes are all Common Core aligned which gives schools, educator the ability to have the classes during school, with any core subjects, as an add on, elective or afterschool as is chosen by the school. Also, our modules/classes are CASEL aligned.
The CASEL 5 addresses five broad and interrelated areas of competence and highlights examples for each: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making. NGSS Next generation science standards and STEAM/STEM. Each one of modules also has assessments after each class, which measures the learning of each student.
Our courses are flexible in the way they can be delivered and presented.
The courses can be used in any way the School/Organization chooses to use them for example in-school, after-school, as an add-on, alternative, elective, camp.
As our classes are common core aligned our courses can be offered as part of the Science, Math, History, English class to make some of the lessons more fun and of course since each of our modules has a hands-on component, also brings a way a child can learn hands-on on the subject learning and preparing a recipe.
